Snowmobiling & ATV Touring
From our location in central Newfoundland, we can access the very best of the outdoors….Red Indian Lake, Buchans Plateau, Gaff Topsails, Grand Lake and Granite Lake Reservoir. Imagine a day like this….your snowmobiling party awakes on Saturday morning with the sun reflecting off the packed snow. You leave Lake Douglas lodge after a hearty breakfast and depart for our day trip. We ride cross country to Buchans and pick up the old railway bed to ride to Gaff Topsails. We stop and rest and take some pictures at several vantage points along the way. By late afternoon, we arrive in Howley on Grand Lake. We explore the well-ridden trails in this area for the rest of our day. We spend the night at the restored family farmhouse. After a full supper and some great conversation by the woodstove, we all head to bed before we start on our journey back this next day. This is just one of many such snowmobile and ATV adventures to be had at Lake Douglas Hunting and Fishing.
You bring your snowmobile or ATV and personal effects, and we provide the rest. We have gas for purchase onsite at our refueling station. No worries about running low!
Snowmobile tours are offered from mid-January to April. ATV tours are available from May until early September.
Eco-tours
If you are looking to get back to the quiet of nature, we can provide that experience for you. Whether you want to do photography, nature walks, hiking, boating, canoeing or kayaking, we have all of the amenities and a great location for you. With the endless supply of water systems, you could explore for days in your canoe or kayak. This area is a photographer’s paradise. Between the scenery and the wildlife, there is no shortage of things to shot…with your camera, that is.
Our tours are all-inclusive, providing you with semi-private and private accommodations, great meals and boil-ups, satellite television, hot showers, and all the amenities offered at Lake Douglas lodge. Our tours are provided by knowledgeable and experienced guides.
All of our tours are provided at a rate of $125/person/night plus HST. Couples receive a discount of 10%. Minimum of 6 required per party. Parties of 10 or more, please call to find out about our group rates.
