Black Bear Hunting: We have some of the best habitat in Newfoundland, for sustaining a healthy black bear population. Hunting pressure is very low in our management area and it is very common to see black bears around the lodge area and in the field during the fall hunt. We offer a limited number of spring black bear hunts over bait, and these may be enhanced with good fishing. Also, the size of our black bears is generally large, again due to the lack of hunting pressure and because of the limited number of license available annually.

With excellent habitat and minimal hunting pressure, our black bears have been thriving. Opportunities to take record-class bears are common and the location of our lodge offers excellent hunting.

We offer baited spring hunts as well as fall hunts which can be in combination with the moose, woodland caribou, or both.

Our spring black bear hunt is available during late May, June and early July. 100% success rates are very common each season. We also offer fishing during the spring hunt to those hunters who take their bear early in the hunt or to those who just want to fish as an alternative.
